If you are looking for a honest, dedicated, knowledgeable home inspector, I’m your guy!
Starting a paper route at the age of 12, a strong work ethic has always been in my blood. I kept busy in the summer mowing lawns, and shoveling driveways in the winter. At 16 years old, I started working for Hannaford Supermarkets. After completing high school, I attended Eastern Maine Community College studying Building Construction all while working at Hannaford & other part time odd jobs.
As a young adult, I started my own construction business. With over 40 years of experience in the building industry, I specialize in both residential & commercial construction. I stayed with Hannaford for 35 years - 25 of those years as a facility project manager. I was responsible for overseeing general maintenance & capital projects (i.e., rooftop unit replacements, roof replacements, parking lot replacements, case changes, cooler abatement & replacements, scheduling projects & anything to do with the building envelope.)
I then started focusing my attention on the real estate industry by taking a Home Inspection course at the Arthur Gray School of Real Estate. I enjoy being a part of the home buying and selling process.
I am married with two grown daughters & six grandchildren. Over the years, my wife & I got our start buying multiple debilitated apartment houses & extensively remodeling them. Later on, our daughters helped with the remodeling & gained a strong work ethic & knowledge of building construction. We still own two apartment buildings and enjoy being landlords. When I’m not inspecting or building, I enjoy getting away & spending time at our camp near Millinocket where we built a beautiful log cabin. While there, there’s nothing better than relaxing by the campfire while playing the banjo - an instrument I took up as a child and recently got back into as an adult.
Finding joy in restoring old things has not subsided - My wife & I are currently working on restoring a 1965 Scotty camper. I also enjoy woodworking, my most prized items being a cedar strip canoe I designed and built myself, a dog sled, and custom cabinets in our camp.
I take pride in my work & my attention to detail. I will go into your potential home as if I were buying it for myself or my daughters. If I wouldn't feel safe living there with my family, then I wouldn't want anyone else to live there. I work for you & and I’m not influenced by realtors. While your realtor is working for you as well, it’s best to have a third, un-biased party: that’s where I come in! I will give you my honest, educated opinion and you can decide where you want to go from there.
